Also, Adenostics Display Manager(ADM) 1.25, which will be included in Update 3 of AdenosineOS 2, is confirmed to be more secure than ADM 1.0, thus allowing for a much safer usage of the operating system in public places. For those who want to use ADM outside of AdenosineOS, we have plans to create an installation program that'll be available on Github.

March 24th, 2024: Introducing Beta Builds!
As Adenix's operating systems fully transfer to Debian, with us now able to fully establish long-term support, we now have an opportunity to establish beta testing alongside the usual release cycle for our operating systems. The beta builds will have different names compared to their full release counterparts, with AdenosineOS beta builds being under the name of Adenaco, AdenoCORE beta builds being under the name of Industria, and MollyOS beta builds being under the name of Starfield. The beta build release schedule will serve the purpose of articulating the process of producing upcoming versions, as well as allowing for users to test certain features that'll be included in the main builds.
January 18th, 2024: AdenosineOS Moves to Debian; AdenoDE Becomes the Main Desktop Environment
The first debian-based version of AdenosineOS has finally been released, thus truly signalling Adenix's first steps out of the limitations of Ubuntu. Not only that, but Adenix has begun its expansion towards the desktop environment sector through its creation of the first version of AdenoDE, AKA the Adenosine Desktop Environment, built from the i3 window manager that was included with AdenoCORE. Although, like a fish out of water, AdenosineOS 2's first update is in a newly created form that is yet to become the complex distro that is fully used to its new environment, yet it totally fits the debloated form of the operating system we been trying to create from Ubuntu. And so, there will be a series of updates between AdenosineOS 2 & AdenosineOS 3, with them being made to refine the structure of the first update, reinstall the features of AdenosineOS 1, and build AdenoDE further for it to become more stable & complete.
January 13th, 2024: Ubuntu-to-Debian Switch Confirmed
After the successful testing of AdenoCORE 5.0, we have confirmed that the AdenosineOS series shall switch from Ubuntu to Debian to not only reduce the bloat, but to also have more of a blank slate to use as a foundation for our operating systems.
January 8th, 2024: Plans to Switch from Ubuntu to Debian due to Development Difficulties
Sorry for the recent delays, but it turns out that the way in which Ubuntu is built is unsuitable for making stable minimal versions of our operating systems, especially since the Ubiquity installer relies so much on GNOME & its bloatware museum. That is why we are now making plans to switch from Ubuntu to Debian in order to reduce the unneeded storage waste that has been an obstacle for us for the first year of operation. We hope you appreciate our efforts as we find a way to make our operating systems both stable and efficient for our users.
December 5th, 2023: Jammy Reroute
Due to the instability of the sources list for Ubuntu 23.10, we have decided to temporarilly downgrade the foundation to the latest current LTS version(Ubuntu 22.04 LTS) as a safety measure before the release of 24.04 LTS in order to not go through the pain of an unstable foundation again as LTS versions are known to have long-term support compared to the interim versions. However, due to 22.04 being made before 23.04, we will reconstruct the new set of versions to ensure that they are fully stable. Luckily, this will allow us to enter the LTS series earlier, thus shortening the STS-to-LTS transition period. We hope you appreciate the necessary precautions to make our operating systems as efficient as we can make them. ;)
November 1st, 2023: The STS-to-LTS Transition Period(10/29/23 - 4/25/24)
As Adenix nears its second year of operation, we are looking forward to the release of Ubuntu 24.04 in the April of 2024. Upon its release, we'll finally move on from the days of dealing with the rush of having to deal with using short-term support versions as the foundations for our operating systems, which is definitely not the way to go for any forked distros, as we had to learn a few days earlier. With an LTS version as the foundation, we will not have to worry about a repeat of the incident that happened in late October of 2023. If you chose to stay as we found solutions for each of our operating systems, then we sincerely thank you for continuing to support us along the way, even in times when we had to deal with issues that impacted the stability of our products. ;)
October 27th, 2023: AdenoCORE page reopened as AdenoCORE 4.5 is released, Development of MollyOS 8 to begin
Now that AdenosineOS & AdenoCORE have been stabilized, it is safe to say that we are on our way towards getting back on track towards striving to fix the problems of Ubuntu, although many release dates will have to be revised once MollyOS 8 releases according to the release & end-of-life dates of Ubuntu's versions.
October 26th, 2023: AdenosineOS 1.5 released upon completion, AdenoCORE & MollyOS pages hidden until emergency updates are completed
As we make progress to fix the situation caused by the end of Ubuntu 22.10, the AdenoCORE & MollyOS pages will be unavailable until we fully develop a stable version for each of them. Luckily, AdenosineOS 1.5 has been completed yesterday and is available for installation. If there are any other problems you need to let us know about, then you can go to our Github page. As far as we know, AdenoCORE 4.5 will be released tomorrow on October 27th, 2023 at the earliest as we try our best to get our operating systems back in working order. As we said before, you can update your sources list by using the instructions included with the October 24th news update. We hope you all understand about the current situation, as we are just as inconvenienced as you are.
October 24th, 2023: The Kudu Krisis: Kinetic Kudu End-of-Life causes problems with Adenix OS source lists as Adenix rushes to develop emergency updates; AdenosineOS 1.5 (Jonah) & AdenoCORE 4.5 soon to be released to adapt to the end of Ubuntu 22.10; MollyOS Fluorine to be released early if possible; AdenosineOS Classic Edition merging with AdenosineOS; Users given instructions on how to update their source lists ahead of time
Kinetic mirrors no longer work due to Ubuntu 22.10 reaching end of life. As a result, AdenosineOS 1.5 & AdenoCORE 4.5 will be released soon with an updated sources list. In the meantime, you can go to https://github.com/simdsoft/sources.list to find the text needed to update the sources list of your current installation of AdenosineOS, MollyOS, or AdenoCORE to a supported version. We are terribly sorry that this had to happen to you all. :(
How to update the sources list:
Open the terminal app
Type in sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
Erase the outdated sources list
Type in or paste the sources list for Jammy Jellyfish(22.04) or Lunar Lobster(23.04)
Make sure to put in a hashtag behind each line that starts with deb-src
Don't put a hashtag behind lines that start with deb instead of deb-src
Save the new sources list by pressing ctrl+X before pressing y when nano asks if you want to save the changes
Type in sudo apt-get update to fully load the new sources list into your system
Type in sudo apt upgrade to upgrade any outdated packages(optional)
Warning: Doing this will lead to assets being changed to that of Xubuntu. If this happens to you, then assets will soon be available in our Github Page.
Type in sudo apt autoremove to remove useless packages(optional)
